Look, it's a
Burt

Burt and Martha currently live in Disbroken.

Who are Burt and Martha?

Burt and Martha are zen-pop funny-aminal parodies of me and me, respectively. Through them, I trick you and many others into reading my fevered, solitary internal dialogues, again and again, while celebrating my own sad narcicissm.

Well, that's what I think, anyway. I'm always open to others' interpretations.

What's here?

Art by me

My current comic featuring these characters is called Disbroken. I rather like this title I have upthunk, as it's strange sort of negation of a negative word that leads to nullification rather than affirmation, and thus acts as a sort of one-word summary of the relationship the two main characters share.

The strip continues the quote-unquote "story" started in Schizofurnia, of which I have an old, wonky archive. I drew these in the spring of 1996 for The Maine Campus, during my final semester at the University of Maine. Some comics are missing from this series; I'll note here when I get around to fixing it.

I have a couple post-Schizo, pre-Disbro comics of them, too. La, la.

Other folks' interpretations

(in order of appearance) I didn't make these images, so please don't distribute them. Each is copyright to its artist.
